The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for a 2.5% pay rise for workers at the Allergen Ireland Limited site in Co Mayo. The recommendation was signed on 8 December 2011. The union said the increase was due under the Towards 2016 agreement. Sodexho Ireland Limited said it could not afford the increase and that it could threaten jobs and competitiveness. The Court recommended that the parties meet early in 2012 to revisit the claim after the company reviewed its finances.
