The Labour Court rejected a worker’s claim for enhanced redundancy terms from Sodexho Ireland Ltd after her job at a client site in Castlebar, Co Mayo, ended. The recommendation was signed on 8 December 2011. The worker, represented by Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, sought six weeks’ pay per year of service including statutory redundancy, matching the package paid to employees of the client company. Sodexho Ireland Ltd said its standard package was two weeks’ pay per year plus statutory redundancy. The Court saw no reason to depart from that package.
