The Labour Court recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland’s proposed pay increase and change agenda in a dispute affecting 135 workers at the Cork Chill Warehouse. The recommendation was signed on 30 August 2011. The Court said there was no realistic basis to improve on the company’s proposed pay increase. It recommended that Sunday working not be pursued further unless practical difficulties could be overcome. The union’s remaining proposals were to be discussed by 30 September, with the dispute eligible to return to the Court if agreement was not reached.
