The Labour Court recommended that National College of Art & Design and a worker agree a lump-sum payment for higher-grade work she undertook with the college’s consent during the 2010/2011 academic year. The recommendation was signed on 29 August 2011. The Court also recommended urgent action on the lack of job descriptions for hourly teaching staff. It found the college had suppressed the worker’s fixed-term Eligible Part-time Lecturer post on financial grounds, and said any permanent reinstatement should be advertised through normal recruitment procedures. The worker was represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union.
