The Labour Court recommended that Gerard Daniel Worldwide offer €750 to each person covered by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for retrospective pay, with the union to accept the payment in full and final settlement. The payment was to be made in two phases: €500 on acceptance of the recommendation and €250 in January 2012. The dispute concerned increases under the Towards 2016 Transitional Agreement for October 2008 to November 2009. Gerard Daniel Worldwide said the agreement’s terms did not suit the financial pressure it faced; the union argued the company was doing well and had not pleaded inability to pay. The recommendation was signed on 16 June 2011.
