The Labour Court recommended that the HSE (South) and the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union meet as soon as possible to find a way to implement an agreement to regrade medical secretaries. The recommendation was signed on 13 June 2011. A 2008 collective agreement provided for regrading, but a moratorium on recruitment and promotion prevented its implementation. The Court recognised the merit of the union’s claim and recommended that the parties identify a mechanism to resolve the issue.
