The Labour Court recommended that An Bord Altranais and INMO meet to decide what changes were needed to their compressed-hours agreement, in a recommendation signed on 17 December 2010. The process was to be completed within six weeks, with unresolved issues eligible to return to the Court. The scheme was introduced as part of An Bord’s move to Blackrock and withdrawn from 31 December 2009. INMO said it had been agreed as part of the relocation and supported work-life balance. An Bord said it was harming operations and its ability to discharge statutory duties. The Court said management could not end the scheme unilaterally, but the agreement needed to be modified or discontinued to address its operational effects.
