The Labour Court recommended that the Irish Refugee Council offer a Finance and Administration Officer three weeks’ pay per year of service, in addition to statutory redundancy terms already paid. The recommendation was signed on 10 December 2010. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought terms like those paid to staff made redundant in 2007, including an exit training package. The Council said financial difficulties prevented it from offering more than statutory redundancy terms. The Court said the level sought was not reasonable in the circumstances, while the Council’s position was out of line with similar voluntary organisations.
