The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for compensation for overtime earnings lost after a worker was redeployed at Stena Line. The recommendation was signed on 12 July 2010. The union said the overtime had been regular and a substantial part of the worker’s earnings, and that compensation for such losses had become usual in the industry. Stena Line said the worker chose redeployment to avoid compulsory redundancy and that overtime was not guaranteed or covered by its restructuring agreement.
