The Labour Court recommended that St John Bosco Youth Centre pay an unnamed worker €7,500 in full and final settlement after finding she was unfairly dismissed. In a recommendation signed on 21 June 2010, the Court said she was denied access to contractual disciplinary procedures and a chance to respond to performance concerns before the dismissal decision. She was also refused an appeal to the Board of Management. The worker said she had not been warned about performance concerns and was denied an appeal. Management said it had raised underperformance at a probation meeting and decided dismissal was appropriate after considering an extension to probation.
