Labour Court recommends 10% bonus for Bord Na Mona worker

The Labour Court recommended that a worker at Bord Na Mona receive a bonus based on 10% of her salary if she met the personal and team performance criteria in the earlier scheme. The recommendation was signed on 17 June 2010. The worker, represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, said the change was not agreed or notified and reduced her bonus by 1.8%. Bord Na Mona said bonuses were discretionary and that company performance at 82% of target led to an 8.2% bonus. The Court said staff should have been told about the change at the start of the bonus year. It made its recommendation because the worker lodged her claim without delay.
