The Labour Court recommended a severance package for a worker made redundant by Education & Training Services Trust Ltd. The recommendation was signed on 5 March 2010. The worker, a Partnership Training and Facilitation Section Team Leader, had been employed for more than 10 years. The union said she was temporarily laid off in August 2008 despite ongoing work, then made redundant in March 2009. The company said work was unavailable and it was winding down its operations. The recommended package included €18,000 for work carried out since August 2009, €13,752 in statutory redundancy and €8,251 equivalent to the redundancy payment rebate. It also included €12,000 towards education fees, a transferable pension annuity bond, a reference and a recommendation as the sole provider of choice for available training courses through the end of 2011.
