The Labour Court recommended that claims by the Irish Nurses Organisation for additional nursing and clerical staff and structural improvements at Midleton Health Centre be considered by the Area Employment Monitoring Group. The recommendation was signed on 27 July 2009. The union sought 10 whole-time equivalent public health nurses, extra clerical cover and more accommodation, citing population growth in the area. HSE South pointed to refurbishment, a planned extension and limits on recruitment. The Court said the claims and supporting reasons deserved further serious consideration and recommended that the union be kept informed of progress.
