The Labour Court recommended that the Dublin Airport Authority pay €2,500 compensation to a worker after finding its procedures for handling her complaint against a colleague did not comply with natural justice or its own grievance procedures. The recommendation was signed on 1 July 2009.

The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the worker was not interviewed during the investigation and was not given an opportunity to appeal its findings. The DAA said it followed its procedures and could not hold an appeal while she was absent on sick leave. The worker had referred the matter to the Labour Court under section 20(1) of the Industrial Relations Act, 1969, and agreed to be bound by its recommendation.
