The Labour Court recommended that An Post reoffer its proposal for a senior manager’s 2007 bonus and that he accept it in full and final settlement. The recommendation was dated 1 December 2008. The Association of Higher Civil & Public Servants argued that he should receive a full-year bonus, saying he had been available for work while assigned to the Resource Centre. An Post said personal performance pay depended on assessed work actually performed. The Court found the manager was entitled to the full company performance bonus, while personal performance pay depended on assessment of his work. It recommended reoffering the company’s earlier proposal: the 10% company performance bonus plus personal performance pay for the 11 weeks he worked in an active role.
