The Labour Court recommended that a worker made redundant by Provident Personal Credit receive a severance payment equal to three times her statutory redundancy entitlements. Its recommendation was dated 7 October 2008. Minimum-notice entitlements are separate. The worker had spent more than 16 years in the company’s Dublin regional office, which was moving to Wexford. Unite sought terms benchmarked against sector practice. The company said it had looked for suitable alternative work and considered its offer of statutory redundancy plus an €8,000 ex-gratia payment fair.
