The Labour Court recommended that the conciliation proposals be accepted, subject to modifications, and that Leitrim County Council's proposed new work areas be accepted. The recommendation was signed on 1 April 2008. The Court set daily travel allowances of €8 for 9–19 km, €12 for 20–29 km, €17 for 30–38 km and €22 for 39 km or more. It called for welfare facilities to meet statutory requirements within six weeks of acceptance, immediate discussions on temporary staff panels and contractor use in line with the National Contractors Agreement. The Court did not recommend conceding Services Industrial Professional Technical Union's voluntary exit-package claim.
