The Labour Court recommended against extra pay for two Connacht Gold Co-Operative Society Limited drivers who used handheld computers, finding the technology changed how they did the same work and amounted to normal ongoing change. The recommendation was signed on 20 December 2007. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said computer use added about an hour to the drivers’ day without overtime pay. The Court recommended that the union’s other issues be discussed by the parties.
