The Labour Court recommended that Halcyon Contract Cleaning Services Limited pay €500 to each of two contract cleaners it found had been unfairly dismissed. The recommendation was signed on 20 December 2007. The Court found the workers were dismissed without appropriate procedures, including an appeal hearing, and that the company did not respond to the union’s request for a meeting. It said the disciplinary procedures did not comply with the Code of Practice on Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures.
