The Labour Court recommended that the student training co-ordinator allowance be implemented as set out in the Expert Group report, supporting the Medical Laboratory Scientists Association’s position. The recommendation was dated 23 April 2007. The union wanted the allowance paid to nominated co-ordinators. The Health Service Executive - Employers Agency proposed sharing it among all medical scientists involved in student training. The Court said the dispute concerned how to implement the allowance and recommended following the report’s approach.
