The Labour Court recommended that Dairygold Co-Operative Society Ltd. and Dairy Executives’ Association negotiate an agreed pay determination system for managers. The recommendation, signed on 22 December 2006, followed a dispute over the application of national wage agreement increases. The association said management had applied different pay rules to managers and sought national wage increases for its members. Dairygold said it had negotiated a separate deal with managers, whose increases exceeded national agreement rises, and said it had sought details of affected employees. The Court noted the association was recognised for collective bargaining and that the pay system appeared to have been introduced unilaterally.
