The Labour Court recommended changes to working arrangements at An Post's Dublin Mails Centre, including an opt-out from Christmas hour-banking for current auxiliary staff who preferred to keep a 21-hour weekly attendance pattern. The recommendation was signed on 4 December 2006, and An Post and Communications Workers Union had agreed to be bound by it.
Staff on 37.5-hour contracts should be offered extra hours at overtime rates during the Christmas period. The Court did not recommend compensation for inward-coding work, finding the changes fell within the existing agreement. Other issues first raised at the hearing were to be handled through the ongoing review process.
