Labour Court recommends HSE Employers Agency address concerns under nursing education agreement

In 2006, the Labour Court recommended that the HSE Employers Agency and Irish Nurses Organisation address concerns about Centres for Nurse Education under their 2002 agreement. The recommendation was dated 27 April 2006. The Irish Nurses Organisation sought to restore options for nurse teachers who had chosen to work in the centres, citing concerns about staffing, funding and management structures. The agency said the centres were operating and it was not feasible to reopen transfer or retirement options. The Court recommended that the organisation set out its concerns in writing and that the agreement be implemented in full, with the concerns addressed within six months.
