The Labour Court recommended concession of Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union's claim that public-sector pay increases under Sustaining Progress apply to workers at Coolmine Sports Complex. The recommendation was dated 2 February 2006. The claim covered caretakers, leisure attendants and administrative staff. The union said pay had followed public-sector agreements since 1991. Management disputed a continuing link and argued the complex was self-financing and in deficit. The Court found that public-sector agreements had determined the workers' pay for years and saw no basis to stop the established practice applying to the increase claimed. It recommended discussions about the financial implications after acceptance.
