The Labour Court recommended a €10 weekly increase to basic pay in return for suppressing one post, and a transfer of €25 from bonus to basic pay at Glanbia Dairies (Ballytore). The recommendation was dated 28 November 2005. The dispute followed the transfer of the Cork Milk Producers milk brand. The union said the transfer brought extra work and sought €40 on basic pay, as well as a gradual transfer of bonus payments. The company said it hired six extra staff to handle the added volume, leaving little change in existing staff work. The union, Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, rejected the company’s earlier offer, which included a €250 lump sum; it told the Court it did not want a once-off payment. The Court’s revised recommendation set out the pay changes and suppression of one post.
