The Labour Court recommended pay and working-condition changes at North-Link M 1 Limited after a collective dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. For day operations, it recommended rates from €10.50 to €12.15 across 15 points, effective 1 August 2005, with other referred rates adjusted pro rata. The Court recommended a 33% premium for permanent night shifts and 20% for double-day shifts, as well as four weeks’ pay per year under a sick-pay scheme from 1 January 2006. It also recommended time-and-a-half for rostered Sunday hours and double time for Sunday overtime. The Court said the company’s structure did not allow it to recommend an employee share ownership scheme. It recommended adoption of a grievance and disciplinary procedure proposed by the company and agreed by it to conform with the cited code. The recommendation was signed on 28 November 2005.
