The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for compensation after three managers lost an overseas hardship allowance when Fas International Consulting Limited closed in 2003. The union said the 1% payment had formed part of their earnings for years; Fas said it compensated hardship while working in developing countries. In a recommendation dated 17 September 2004, the Court said it found no merit in the union’s case.
