The Labour Court recommended €3,500 compensation for a worker it found had been unfairly dismissed by Morrin Morrin & Malone (The Barge). The worker said a manager dismissed him at a meeting about issues raised by a workplace investigation; the company said he left of his own free will. In a recommendation dated 6 September 2004, the Court said the worker had not been given a fair opportunity to answer the allegations or access representation. It found he had been dismissed and that the dismissal was excessively harsh.
