In 2004, the Labour Court recommended that Bus Atha Cliath give a worker a written statement clarifying the status of his final warning and whether he had been removed from the Attendance Control Programme. The recommendation was dated 23 August 2004. The worker, a bus driver with more than 32 years’ service, said his absences related to an occupational injury and should not have led to the warning or his placement on the programme. The company said it had removed the warning and offered to remove him from the programme, but the worker said he had not been informed. The company did not attend the hearing.
