The Labour Court recommended that Dunnes Stores introduce long-service increments for non-sales staff, following a claim by Mandate. The recommendation was signed on 24 March 2004. It covered canteen, catering, cleaning and security staff, with increments after seven and ten years of service.

For canteen, catering and cleaning staff, the Court recommended increments of 1.4% after seven years and 3.5% after ten years, based on the maximum General Assistant 2 rate, then €8.79. For security staff, it recommended the same percentages based on the maximum Security Staff rate, then €10.46. Payments were to be retrospective for one year from the recommendation date. Dunnes Stores did not attend the hearing; the Court said Mandate had made every effort to resolve the claim.
