The Labour Court recommended that the Health Service Employers' Agency (Hsea) and the Medical Laboratory Scientist's Association ask an Expert Group whether its report had omitted by error a reference to pay increases transferring to on-call allowances, or intended a different approach for medical scientists. The association said the HSEA had changed the long-standing method for calculating on-call payments and had not applied a 5.72% basic-grade increase to them. The HSEA argued the claim would give medical scientists an increase not received by other groups covered by restructuring agreements. The recommendation was signed on 23 March 2004.
