In 2003, the Labour Court recommended that Marble & Granite Supplies Ltd and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union compare pay and conditions with similar employments and complete a review of grievance and disciplinary procedures. The Court said there was insufficient information to decide the pay comparison issue. It recommended that the procedures provide for union representation in individual grievance and disciplinary matters when requested, and for use of State dispute-resolution machinery as appropriate. The recommendation was signed on 9 December 2003.
