The Labour Court recommended that Irish Estates recognise the Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union’s right to represent its members. The recommendation was signed on 9 December 2003. Irish Estates had said it was willing to discuss individual employee matters but would not recognise the union for collective bargaining. The union had sought recognition to represent members in discussions about their terms and conditions.
