The Labour Court recommended that Longford Udc offer its Town Foreman €1,905 a year for overtime and other duties outside normal hours, or allow him to remain on his existing overtime arrangement. The recommendation was dated 30 April 2002. The Union Of Construction, Allied Trades And Technicians had sought extra payment for being on call and for opening and closing premises. The Court did not recommend either claim, finding that opening the yard, canteen and disarming the alarm were part of the Town Foreman’s normal duties. The claim for lost overtime had been withdrawn.
