In 2001, the Labour Court recommended that Ge Superabrasives Ireland Limited not concede a worker's claim about holiday entitlement under its annualised-hours system. The recommendation was signed on 2 November 2001. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union argued that a nominated 10-day roster break used too much of the worker's holiday entitlement. The company said its calculation complied with the collective agreement. The Court found that the holiday allocation and draw-down applied to the worker were also applied consistently to all employees.
