The Labour Court recommended that Moneycorp pay a worker one month’s pay in lieu of notice and any outstanding holiday pay after dismissing her during probation. The worker, an office administrator, alleged unfair dismissal; the company said she had diverted business and breached its policy. The Court found her actions were not an attempt to defraud the company, though they may have been ill conceived and misguided. It accepted there had been a breakdown of trust but said instant dismissal was unwise, particularly during probation. The recommendation was signed on 18 December 2000.
