In 2000, the Labour Court recommended five extra days of annual leave, or equivalent payment, for catering staff at Northern Area Health Board (St Ita's Hospital), and three days on the same terms for vanmen. The recommendations were made in a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union over the temporary kitchen. The Court also called for a committee to address health and safety problems and recommended that a Health and Safety Authority representative examine conditions. The recommendation was signed on 5 December 2000.
