The Labour Court recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept Group 4 Securitas Ireland Ltd’s right to select the most suitable candidate for promotion regardless of length of service. The recommendation, signed on 4 December 2000, also says the parties should agree how to implement that approach. The Court considered the company’s paid time-off policy for shop stewards reasonable and recommended no change.
