The Labour Court recommended that Swiftcall Centre Ltd pay a worker compensation for loss of notice equal to three months’ salary. The recommendation was signed on 20 June 2000. The company said the worker stopped reporting for work in April 1998 and had not been dismissed. The Court found there was no reasonable basis for the employer to conclude that he had resigned or abandoned his employment; his absence followed work on a project assigned by the person he regarded as his manager.
