Labour Court recommends Autofare on Dublin Bus Air-Link route

In 2000, the Labour Court recommended Autofare on Dublin Bus's Air-Link route unless the parties agreed an alternative non-cash system. The recommendation was signed on 21 February 2000. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and the National Bus & Rail Union said an earlier recommendation to extend Autofare to all routes had not been implemented on Air-Link, which served Dublin Airport, Bus Aras and Heuston Station. The unions said Autofare had reduced robbery-related assaults on drivers by almost 100%. Dublin Bus said it had overlooked the route and that exact-coin fares could cause problems for visitors. The Court recommended no change to the O.P.O./T.P.O. Tribunal's compensation recommendation.
