The Labour Court did not recommend that Abs Pumps concede a claim by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union for an 8% World Class Manufacturing increase for about 20 former craft workers. Its recommendation was dated 29 October 1999. The union argued the workers’ earlier 8% increase included a 2.5% performance review, leaving them with a smaller real increase than other groups. Abs Pumps said they had already received an 8% increase and should not receive it again. The Court found they had received a similar increase to other employees and that the union knew the company’s proposals.
Labour Court rejects Abs Pumps union claim for another 8% increase
