Labour Court recommends 2% increase for about 90 Abs Pumps Limited workers

In 1999, the Labour Court recommended that Abs Pumps Limited pay about 90 administrative, supervisory and technical workers a 2% Partnership 2000 increase from 1 January. The recommendation was dated 29 October 1999. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought the increase without conditions. Abs Pumps Limited argued that local negotiations should address the terms and costs, and cited a separate phased 7.95% increase under a World Class Manufacturing agreement. The Court found the workers entitled to the 2% and recommended that the employer raise its concerns with the union.
