In 1999, the Labour Court recommended that employees accept Group 4 Securitas’s May offer, with the 2% increase paid from 1 July rather than 1 September. The recommendation was dated 11 October 1999. The dispute involved about 300 security officers in the Dublin area and covered pay and structured overtime. The Court said the company had honoured its Partnership 2000 commitments and did not recommend concession of the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s other claims, including its proposed £5.25 top hourly rate.
