Labour Court rejects £33 weekly allowance claim for Team Aer Lingus storespersons

By Tadhg O'Sullivan

Historic decision · Decision date:

Place: no local area assigned from the source.

The Labour Court did not recommend an extra allowance for three technical storespersons at Team Aer Lingus who certified parts for release from stores. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought £33 a week and the option to give up the certification duty. The Court said the storespersons’ certification work was not equivalent to work for which other staff received special allowances. It recommended extending certification training to all stores personnel as soon as possible. The recommendation was dated 19 June 1997.
