In 1997, the Labour Court recommended that Cosmo Ten Limited repay money outstanding to a sales representative after a dispute over changes to her employment terms. The recommendation was dated 20 June 1997. Marine Port And General Workers' Union said the company introduced a new wage structure in February 1994, requiring the worker to pay her own expenses while raising her commission rate on sales above £100,000. The company did not attend the hearing but set out its position in a letter. The Court said the information before it appeared to show that the terms had been changed unilaterally and that the worker and union had objected in writing. It recommended repayment of any money outstanding since February 1994 and discussions if the company wished to review her contract.
