In 1997, the Labour Court recommended that Guardian Group and Manufacturing, Science, Finance refund two employees’ car insurance premiums, including open driving cover, for 1994, 1995 and 1996. The recommendation was dated 16 June 1997. Refunds from 1997 were to follow the terms of the memorandum of 30 November 1995. The dispute also covered a lunch allowance and nine car parking spaces allocated to union members. The parties had reached agreement on the lunch allowance, while the Court recommended meaningful negotiations on parking as soon as possible.
