The Labour Court recommended that Coca Cola Atlantic and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union discuss the work of four warehouse supervisors and chargehands, prepare job descriptions and arrange an urgent job evaluation. The recommendation was dated 27 June 1996. The supervisors sought restoration of the grade differential, which had narrowed after a 1992 agreement increased chargehand and operative grades by 8.5%. The Court said pay differences should reflect job content and value to avoid industrial relations problems.
