Labour Court recommends four weeks’ redundancy pay per service year at Irish Productivity Centre

In 1995, the Labour Court recommended redundancy payments of four weeks' pay per year of service, inclusive of statutory entitlement, in a restructuring dispute involving the Irish Productivity Centre and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The Court viewed the Centre as a standalone business rather than part of the public service. It said last-in, first-out selection should apply in administrative roles, while consultant selection could instead use an independent assessor and transparent criteria. The recommendation was signed on 4 October 1995.
