In 1995, the Labour Court recommended a formula for calculating public-holiday pay for part-time workers at Hermitage Golf Club. The Court recommended multiplying the normal hourly rate by the average weekly hours worked over the previous 13 weeks, then dividing by five. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought an eight-hour normal day; the company proposed an averaging formula based on the period before the holiday. The recommendation was signed on 4 October 1995.
