In 1995, the Labour Court recommended that Ohshima Ireland Ltd and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union discuss pay rates for temporary workers after the company introduced new rates without discussing them with the union. The recommendation was signed on 26 June. The Court said the unilateral introduction of two rates was not in line with normal industrial relations practice. It called on both sides to seek agreement and said it would make a recommendation if they had not agreed within six weeks.
